So basically I'm kind of a failure?
Pain flares as I collapse to the ground, smoke rising from my side as I see a burn deep in my skin.
"Peskow!" My fighting teacher yells from her perch somewhere in the arena. "Get up and block Perry's attacks! Stop dreaming and fight!" Man you just got to love the world.
I look up and see a scarred, but handsome face looking down on me smiling with smoke coming from his hand. He has dyed red hair like every other fourteen and older human in Team Fuego. Perry is the popular kid in the fourteen year old village. I look back up at Perry and roll out of the way of his sword, the blade brushing past my head. I jump up to my feet just in time to block his next attack. I look Perry straight in his eyes and smile at him making his smile fade into a glare. I start to feel good about this but then I fly backwards and slam into the ground hard, knocking all of the breath out of me. I look up and see my shirt in shreds and smoke coming off the remaining pieces of my shirt and Perry's hands smoking.
The horn is blown meaning the fight is over. Perry has won.
He yells in victory and walks over to the cheering crowd of fourteen year old's. I sigh and close my eyes so I can think. When I open my eyes I see two green eyes looking down on me.
"Hey Althea. How's it going?" I say as casually as you can get while lying on the ground smoking.
Althea frowns. "You are literally the worst ever." She pulls me up off the ground. "Dude why didn't you dodge his fire attacks?" She punches me playfully in the arm but it still hurts.
"I don't know. I, myself thought that I was on fire the entire fight." I smile as she groans.
I look over at Perry and every other fourteen year old in this village. All of them are laughing at something Perry said, most likely involving me as the joke. I step forward and Perry turns around and looks me down.
"Man, Peskow you really got up quicker then usual. Next time I'll be more careful so you can have a shirt still." He smirks and walks forward so we are literally a nose away. " Anyway...."
"Listen Perry before you continue with your long boast about how your such a better fighter then me and how I'm weak well just remember that I still need to get a autograph from your sis kp." He looks so confused and I take a quick glance at Althea before I finish my sentence. "Katy Perry."
Next thing I know Perry grabs my shirt and holds me up, which is surprising since I am taller. He is about to blast off my face our fighting teacher, Mrs. Blake, grabs hold of me and Perry's ears and separates us to my relief.
She glares at Perry then glares at me. "If you guys didn't know fighting training is over and here in Team Fuego we are all friends and only fight the other team. So I think you two need to explain before I get a little madder then I already am."
Why is everybody so mad? I think to myself. Is every other team like this?
I get snapped out of my thoughts by Mrs. Blake yelling in my face. " Peskow! Answer me! Is what Perry says true?!"
I stare at her blankly. What did Perry say now?
"Ummm..... Yes?" I look at Althea to see if I did the right thing but she just face palms.
Mrs. Blake stares at me. "I see..... So you started the fight? I mean I know your weak but this is just...... I'm so proud of you Peskow! I mean you should of fought him in the training course but still this is a improvement at least."
"Wait..... No..." Perry starts to stutter.
"Mrs. Blake....." Everybody stares at me. "I-I don't fight."
I close my eyes waiting for her response. I wait until she grabs hold of my ear again and drags me away from everybody. I open my eyes to see I'm in a jail cell that is supposed to be for people in Team Spark so I don't know why I'm there.
That's when Mrs. Blake starts to leave. "Wait! Why am I here?" I yell after her.
She turns around and stares me down. "Your supposed to stay here for tonight."
Before I can complain any more she leaves me alone to my own devices. I crawl into a corner and fall asleep to only be awakened by a clash of swords and lightning flashing outside. The wall blasts open and I pretend to still be asleep while voices fill the tiny room.
